I realize that she is not getting enough tummy time - your blog states that 90 minutes is the goal which seems nearly impossible but we can get there now that she is starting to be more awake. Till when we do continue to do tummy time? till 1 yr old or as long as the baby continues? Any assistance would be appreciated.Rimpshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01575346419089311971noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4449872527401039590.post-23778341241699353062008-12-28T11:09:00.000-05:002008-12-28T11:09:00.000-05:00Our Little Miracles. The ball could also work for him, just be sure that he is comfortable. You may want to use extra padding at his gtube site initially so he won't get frightened.

Keep me posted.Vickie Dakin, PThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07284691305557661939noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4449872527401039590.post-30136003371481632042008-12-28T11:05:00.000-05:002008-12-28T11:05:00.000-05:00The good news J.Lea is that Eric is still only 3 1...The good news J.Lea is that Eric is still only 3 1/2 months. One thing I like is to use a large yoga ball. You have to be careful. Don't fill the ball too full so he sinks in just a little. Provide good support and move the ball slowly forward and backward. Place him on his elbows and gently bounce the him on the ball. This works best if there is someone or something to distract him right in front of him. Start very briefly and try to get him off before he cries.

Keep me posted.Vickie Dakin, PThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07284691305557661939noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4449872527401039590.post-76105157581015128042008-12-26T12:37:00.000-05:002008-12-26T12:37:00.000-05:00My baby is also a 24 weeker. He needs more assistance. Granted we have had to stop tummy time over the past month and a half. This did not help. Braden is 7 months adjusted almost 8 and is not currently getting any Physical Therapy. Any help would be appreciated. We've had him home for the 3 1/2 months. He's doing really well and getting a therapist soon since his adaptive and physical scores were low. Hence the reason I found your site, I needed more information.J.Leahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15238164436051381724noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4449872527401039590.post-47691554349018206112008-12-06T18:25:00.000-05:002008-12-06T18:25:00.000-05:00How old is your little guy?How old is your little guy?Vickie Dakin, PThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07284691305557661939noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4449872527401039590.post-79767344562233664572008-12-05T13:03:00.000-05:002008-12-05T13:03:00.000-05:00My preemie hates tummy time! I know it is important, so I try to put him on the crook of my leg or on my tummy while I am sitting up.

He just doesn't like being flat on his belly or with a rolled blanket.

It is very frustrating since I know how it is important, but Eric refuses to cooperate! He has always been very strong-willed. A quality, while beneficial in the NICU, is exasperating when trying to get him to something he doesn't want to.J.Leahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15238164436051381724noreply@blogger.com
